VISALIA — The Hanford West girls basketball team lost a tough road game against Redwood 56-36 on Wednesday.

Chelene Howard scored a team-high 11 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Huskies dropped to 3-14 on the season and 0-2 in the West Yosemite League.

Hanford West kept it close at the start, trailing 14-11 after the first quarter and 27-19 at the half. They trailed 44-32 entering the fourth, but were outscored 12-4 over the final eight minutes.

Nayleen Galaviz scored seven points and Jaslin LeGaretta added six points in the loss.

The Huskies have lost seven of their last eight games and will try and turn things around as the league season continues.
