Sports Roundup: Hanford West snaps losing streak

VISALIA — Kolbi Adams scored a game-high 19 points, Chelene Howard added 11 points and the Huskies snapped an 11-game losing streak with a 69-53 road victory over Central Sequoia League opponent Central Valley Christian on Tuesday.

Hanford West (3-15, 1-3 CSL) earned its first CSL victory by taking a 35-32 halftime lead before using a big third quarter to outscore the Cavaliers 16-5. Hanford West led 51-37 as they entered the fourth quarter.

Jaslin Legarreta scored nine points and Nayleen Galavis had eight points for the Huskies.

Hanford West will face Exeter (9-10, 2-1 CSL) at home today at 7:30 p.m.

VISALIA — The Huskies couldn’t come up with a road victory as they dropped a 2-1 contest to Central Valley Christian on Tuesday.

Brooklyn Beigel scored the only goal for Hanford West (6-8-3, 1-3 CSL). The Huskies are now in fifth place in the CSL standings.

Hanford West has a home game against Exeter (4-4-3, 2-1-1 CSL) today at 6 p.m.

Boys Soccer

HANFORD — After winning two in a row, Hanford West has now lost its last two contests, including a 3-2 loss to Central Valley Christian on Tuesday.

The Huskies (2-10-3, 2-2 CSL) trailed 2-0 at halftime. They scored twice in the second half, but still came up just short.

The Huskies have a 6 p.m. home game against Exeter (4-4-3, 2-1-1 CSL) tonight.
