HANFORD — The Sierra Pacific golf team came away with another victory — although much closer than usual — with a 242-249 score over Kerman.

The non-league match moved Sierra Pacific to a 5-1 record in dual matches. No. 1 golfer Ethan Dall carded a team-low 44 with No.3 Chase Cromwell shooting a 46. No. 4 Ethan Chhan shot a 49 to round out the top three for the Golden Bears.

No. 2 Justin Fukano shot a 51, No. 6 Lucas Cameron had a 52 and No. 5 Thomas Bell carded a 54.

Their next match is in the East Sequoia League tournament at Porterville Municipal Golf Course. The Golden Bears have finished in first in two other ESL tournaments this season.

LEMOORE — The Tigers earned their first West Yosemite League win on Thursday with a 13-4 blowout over Mt. Whitney.

Lemoore (9-6, 1-1 WYL) wasted no time in getting ahead as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. They added another run in the second and five more in the fourth to take a 10-0 lead into the fifth.

The Tigers compiled 15 hits and five different Lemoore batters had multi-hit games. Susannah Campos led the team with a 3-for-4 performance with a RBI and run. Madison Wallace, Kyleigh Allen and Sierra Phelps all had two hits apiece.

Phelps had two RBI, two stolen bases and a walk, Wallace had a RBI and walk and Allen had a RBI, stolen base and reached on an error.

Lemoore pitcher Ashtyn Lucas gave up a grand slam in the fifth inning, but was pretty much unhittable the rest of the game allowing four scattered hits with only one going for extra bases. Over seven innings she allowed four runs on six hits with seven strikeouts and six walks.

Lemoore’s next WYL game is on the road against El Diamante (7-8, 0-2 WYL) on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
