Who doesn’t love parades? Especially victory parades.

The Sierra Pacific girls basketball team is getting one after bringing home the CIF State Division V championship last month. They defeated Lowell 52-26 in the championship game.

Some details are still being ironed out by the Hanford City Council, but it’s been confirmed that the parade will take place on Thursday, April 26 at 4 p.m.

“It’s amazing,” Sierra Pacific coach Amy Bush said. “It means a lot to the girls and to the program and to the school to have the community support.”

The team has had a couple busy weeks with appearances on different radio shows and was most recently recognized by the Hanford City Council at a meeting on April 3, which Bush called a, “great honor.”

The Golden Bears are currently trying to raise money for their championship rings and a banner for the school. They’ll be having a fundraiser at The Habit Burger Grill next Wednesday from 4 p.m.-9 p.m. Anyone who presents a flyer, on their phone or in paper, will have 20 percent of their receipt donated to the girls basketball team.
