HANFORD — Alana Roberts led the Golden Bears with 18 points and nine rebounds as they moved to 2-0 on the season with a dominant 69-10 victory over Immanuel on Tuesday.

Their home opener saw Celeste Lewis put together a near quadruple-double with 13 points, nine assists, eight steals and eight rebounds. Cristina Avila was the third Golden Bear in double-digits with 12 points and three assists.

The defending Division V state champions limited the Eagles (0-1) to one point in the first and second quarters and led 41-2 at halftime. The Golden Bears had 22 steals and five blocks.

They pulled down 48 rebounds on Tuesday and had a total of 21 assists on 30 made baskets, while limiting their turnovers to 13.

After graduating six seniors, Sierra Pacific is off to a good start with a defense that has allowed 23 points in eight quarters or 2.9 points per quarter.

Sierra Pacific will take part in the Clovis West-Nike CV Showdown beginning today and ending on Saturday.
