Lemoore Little League was a bustling Saturday morning. The fall signup desk was heavily-trafficked and families were signing children up for baseball at the fields on lona Avenue.

The cost of playing in the league is $80 or $90 with a personalized uniform.

The first game of the season is scheduled for the Sunday after Labor Day.

League President Chase Stringer says he hopes to have 150 or more players for this year's teams.

There will be additional signup days on Saturday, Aug. 6 and Sunday, Aug. 7 as well as Saturday, Aug. 13 and Sunday, Aug. 15.

Saturday also saw the first day of practice for the new Lemoore 9-and-under travel team, the Little Cannons. Coach Kevin Berglund worked the team of 13 players through drills and batting practice. The first game for the team will be in a tournament in Farmersville Aug. 6-7.
