With state volleyball playoffs in full swing, it’s time for the All-West Yosemite League selections. This season, six made the First Team, Second Team or Honorable Mention.


The Bullpups had three seniors selected to the All-WYL teams. Cori Braun was named to the Second Team after posting 98 assists, 82 digs and 12 aces during league play.

Bella Garcia and Juliana Evans were named as Honorable Mention. Garcia was fourth in the WYL with 158 digs while Evans had a .148 hitting percentage and 51 kills.

Hanford was 6-21 overall and last in the WYL with a 1-9 record. The Bullpups missed the playoffs for a fourth consecutive season.


The Tigers had three players selected to the All-WYL teams. Senior Shelby Saporetti was the only local athlete to be named to the First Team.

Seniors Monica Mancinas and Jayda English were named as Honorable Mentions.

Lemoore finished the season 14-15 overall and fourth overall in the WYL at 3-7. The Tigers’ season came to an end in a 3-0 loss to top seed Exeter in the CIF Central Section Division II first round.
