After capturing their first West Yosemite League in seven years, the accolades poured in for the Bullpups. Hanford had the second-most All-WYL selections with 18 players recognized for their hard work this season.

The Bullpups had the most First Team selections with eight players and 10 on the Second Team. Only Mt. Whitney had more players selected overall (19).

Making the First Team was Juaron Watts-brown (QB, Jr.), Luttrell Young (RB, So.), Travone Houston (RB, Jr.), Tyler Mello (LB, Jr.), Noah Ramirez (LB, Sr.), Christian Moreno (DL, Sr.), Daylon Davis (DB, Jr.) and Sebastian Zaragoza (OL, Sr.).

Watts-brown was third in league with 492 passing yards and passed for three touchdowns to one interception. His QB rating of 93.9 was third among quarterbacks with a minimum of 20 completions. The Texas Tech commit also did it with his legs and led all rushers with a league-leading 584 yards and nine touchdowns.

Young and Houston were No. 1 and 2 on the rushing list in league play for running backs. The two bruising backs were unstoppable forces on the field. Young led all running backs with 356 rushing yards and scored five touchdowns. Houston rushed for 302 yards and scored a league-leading six touchdowns.

Mello clocked in at second on defense with 66 tackles (one short of tying the league-high 67 tackles) and made 38 solo tackles. He far and away led the league with 8.5 sacks — 3.5 more than the next best. Ramirez was tied for seventh with 30 tackles and made 18 solo tackles.

Moreno had 10 tackles and two sacks while Davis made 15 tackles, including 12 solo.

The Staff of the Year also belonged to Hanford. The full staff was head coach Josh Young, Paul Arevalo, Richard Davis, Kory Grigsby, Nate Hunt, DJ Maciel, Aaron Mitchell, Jamie Ramirez, Matt Thomas, Dustin Vasquez and Jake Young.

The Bullpups who made the Second Team were Mason Brosseau (DL, Sr.), Thomas Knight (LB, Jr.) Matthew Pulido (LB, Jr.), Joseph Estrella (DB, Sr.), Dylan Griffis (DB, Sr.), Matthew Kunz (OL, Jr.), Hayden Pulis (OL, Jr.), Angel Ayala (OL, Jr.), Dominic Maldonado (OL, Jr.) and Carson Verhoeven (WR, Sr.).

Hanford enjoyed a turnaround season with these players, including an 8-4 overall record, 5-0 WYL record and a trip to the Division II quarterfinals.

The Tigers struggled on the season and finished 2-8 overall and last in the WYL with a 0-5 record, but still had 12 players make the All-WYL teams.

Damian Goudeau (DL, Sr.) and Brandon Hargrove (WR, Sr.) were named to the First Team after outstanding seasons.

Goudeau’s 30 tackles tied for seventh in league play and his five sacks were second out of all defensive linemen. Hargrove led all receivers with 480 yards and seven touchdowns, three more than the next best.

The Tigers who made the Second Team were Hunter Villegas (DL, Sr.), William Kloster (LB, Jr.), Daniel Jalen (DB, Sr.), Oswaldo Hernandez (DB, Jr.), Alec Tashima (OL, Sr.), Daniel Foote (OL, Jr.), Jason Soto (OL, Jr.) , Steven Wilhite (WR, Sr.), Justin Holaday (QB, Jr.) and Nate Blankenship (Specialist, Sr.).

Mt. Whitney led all teams with 19 selections followed by Hanford (18), Golden West (15), Lemoore (12), El Diamante (10) and Redwood (8).
