SELMA — Students from Leslie Mynderup's second-grade class at Roosevelt Elementary School recently donated clothing for victims of Hurricane Harvey.
The clothes, collected over two days, were given to the Reedley Boy Scout Troop 228, which in turn took it to Camping World of Fresno. Camping World has three stores in Texas. From there, the clothes are being distributed to those in need.
Roosevelt Elementary isn't the only school doing their part. Rafer Johnson Jr. High School in Kingsburg is holding a HERO Up! Book Drive now through Sept. 15. Donated books appropriate for children can be dropped off at the school office or in the school's English Language Arts classes (Rooms 5, 6, 7, 20 and 21).
The goal of the drive is to help restock school libraries that were affected by the hurricane.
