SELMA – A 35-year-old Selma man was killed after a suspected drunken driver drove through a red light near the intersection of Ashlan and Cornelia avenues in Fresno and hit his car on Dec. 26, according to reports from the Fresno Police Department.
Fresno PD’s Mark Hudson reported that Carlos Ortega died on Dec. 27 after Thomas De La Pena accelerated his white pickup truck through a red light and struck Ortega’s 2007 Infiniti.
Pena, 18, was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.
There were three other passengers in Ortega’s four-door vehicle but there were no reports on their identities or the extent of their injuries at press time. Pena was alone in his truck.
