Planning has begun for the 18th annual Free Thanksgiving Day Dinner. The Thanksgiving Day Community Dinner Committee is a group of volunteers that has provided this free meal every year for the past seventeen years.

This meal is provided to those who want a place to go to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day. It is open to the public as well as to seniors and military personnel and their families.

Take out meals and home deliveries in the Hanford/Lemoore area are available for anyone who cannot make it to the dinner’s location, which is the Lemoore Senior Citizens Center located at 789 18th Ave., Lemoore. To order a home delivery, call on 816-5461 on Thanksgiving Day. This is all made possible thanks to the volunteers and generous donations from members of the community.

Any person or organizations wishing to help with this year’s dinner are welcome. The planning committee is actively seeking volunteers who wish to help with donations of time, food or money. Help will be needed with planning, cooking, serving, clean-up and home deliveries. Donations are welcome. The Thanksgiving Day Community Dinner committee is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization.

If you wish to volunteer you may send an email to mary_j116@yahoo.com or by calling MJ at 817-8601.

Donations may be sent to 18240 Jackson Ave., Lemoore, CA 93245; or by contacting Walt Kendall on 924-1484. More information is available and donations may be made on line at www.thanksgivingcommunitydinner.org.
