A display featuring the Portuguese history of Kings County at the Carnegie Museum in Hanford opened to the public Thursday night with a reception gathering of more than 100 people.

Timelines for important dates in the Portuguese community are displayed along with numerous items of interest.

Museum President Jack Schwartz thanks the more then 100 people who came out to view the exhibit on opening night.

Outside the attendees were treated to traditional Portuguese food, including sweet breads, fava beans and local Portuguese wines.
