Assemblymember Rudy Salas has received the endorsement of local mayors serving cities across the 32nd Assembly District.
According to a press release from Salas’ campaign, the list of mayors includes: Jose Gurrola of Arvin; Alvaro Preciado of Avenal; Raymond Lerma of Corcoran; Grace Vallejo of Delano; Ray Madrigal of Lemoore; Manuel Cantu Jr of McFarland; and Gilbert Reyna of Wasco.
“I'm proud to support Assemblymember Salas because he truly cares about the well-being [of] our community,” Madrigal said in a released statement. “Assemblymember Salas is a strong advocate for keeping our families and our kids safe and was instrumental in bringing millions of dollars for our public safety needs and saving FFA (Future Farmers of America) for our students. Rudy is a strong voice for us and he delivers for the Valley.”
This year, Salas worked closely with local leaders to secure $8.7 million for public safety infrastructure in Kings County. In 2015, Salas worked with local mayors and law enforcement officers to secure $5 million for public safety infrastructure in Avenal, Corcoran and Lemoore. Salas said the funding was secured through close collaboration and effective leadership and is critical to keeping neighborhoods and families safe.
“I am honored to receive the support of local mayors who lead our communities and serve families throughout the Central Valley,” Salas said in the press release. “The interests and needs of our region are best met when leaders work together. I am proud to have worked closely with our local mayors to make our cities a better place to live by investing in students and schools, enhancing public safety and addressing public health threats like Valley fever and fighting for clean drinking water.”
Salas is seeking his fourth consecutive term in Assembly District 32 after being elected to the seat in 2012. He will face current Hanford City Councilman Justin Mendes.
