HANFORD — The Hanford City Council is scheduled to meet Tuesday to hold one public hearing on several cannabis issues.
The public hearing will be about an amendment to the city’s municipal code to allow both medical and recreational use cannabis businesses, dispensaries and microbusinesses within Hanford city limits.
Currently, only medical use cannabis businesses are allowed under the city’s ordinances. There are no ordinances that allow dispensaries or microbusinesses.
The hearing will also be about approving the number of cannabis permits to be allowed in the city.
Members of the public will be able to speak and give input about these issues to Council during public comment portion of the hearing.
Aside from approving the consent calendar, there is nothing else scheduled to be discussed on the meeting’s agenda. During a study session before the regular meeting, Council will talk about reorganization in the city’s Utilities and Engineering department.
