August 30, 1978 - December 22, 2017
Raymond Cervantez was born on August 30, 1978 & entered into eternal rest on December 22, 2017 at the age of 39.
Ray was a very outgoing guy who got along with everybody. He loved to help out whoever needed him and whenever he could, he was that shoulder to lean on, that ear to vent to, and that mouth to talk smack with (especially to Raider fans). Ray loved the Kansas City Chiefs and his pit bulls. He started his own kennel club 'Lay Low Bullies'. He earned a few championships through showing his dogs at various dog shows.
Raymond was a hardworker; having worked in the fields with his grandpa Luis Lopez (where he pretended to be the supervisor when his grandpa wasn't around), to actually being a supervisor at the Tachi Palace, Fagundes Cheese, LNAS, and the Corcoran Prison.
After losing partial eyesight, Ray lived out the rest of his life doing as he pleased; spending time with family & friends, ridings quads at the dunes, showing off his dogs in shows, raising roosters, fishing, swimming at the river, coaching kids football & wrestling, watching football on tv and talking smack to everyone.
Raymond is survived by his mom Esther Perez & stepfather Jamie; dad Rudy Cervantez & stepmother Lisa; sons Fabian Cervantez and Ernesto Cervantez; brothers Thomas Cervantez; twin Rudy Cervantez Jr., nieces Monique Cervantez & Shelly Cervantez; Grandparents Luis Lopez, Lala & Felix Ramirez, bestie Kim Hernandez & boys Quentin and Xander; plus many aunts, uncles, & cousins. Ray is preceded in death by his grandma Gloria Lopez, auntie Theresa Lopez, and great friend Julian Hunter.
Visitation will be held at Phipps Dale on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 4 pm to 7 pm with Recitation of the Holy Roary at 6 PM. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at South Valley Church on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 10 am. A potluck reception will follow after services.
