Michaela Grace Conway
June 26, 2001 – April 21, 2019
Michaela Grace Conway, born June 26, 2001, went to Heaven late on Easter night while in the loving embrace of her two parents Rick and Lisa.
While Michaela struggled with schizencephaly, a rare brain disorder, she was nothing short of pure joy for those around her. She had the brightest smile and richest laughter, and she could make anyone's day better.
She attended Shelly Baird School in Hanford where she was a class favorite, helping to bring the mail to the office every day. Michaela would spend much of her other time with her mom and sister Rylie. Lisa would always make sure Michaela was cared for and dressed beautifully, often complete with a large bow in her long hair. Rylie, a proud younger sister, would help with Michaela's medical needs when she wasn't making Michaela laugh. Michaela was constantly surrounded by those who cared deeply for her, including her caretakers and friends Donna Cutruzzula and Kelly Leavens.
Michaela had a special bond with her dad, who would always make sure she was loved and happy. Rick would dance with Michaela, sing ad-libbed songs to her, and take her in a stroller for runs around town.
Michaela will be dearly missed by many, including her two parents Lisa and Rick, her siblings Connor, Griffin, Kevin (and his wife Sam), and Rylie, and her large extended family.
The Rosary celebrating her life will be held at Whitehurst-McNamara Funeral Chapel in Hanford at 6 pm Thursday, the 25th. The Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, April 26th at St Brigids at 12 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Michaela's honor to the Children's Storybook Garden and Museum in Hanford.
