Bertice Lee Jacobs Scott

May 28,1929 - December 27, 2017

Bertice Lee was born in Texas to Elbert and Leona (Flatt) Donham. When she was young, 'Bert' and her family moved to California, eventually settling in the Lemoore area.

While attending Lemoore High School she met Floyd Jacobs. They were happily married for twenty five years, making their home in the Riverdale area. They were blessed with three daughters. After Floyd's passing in 1972 she worked as a hairdresser for several years in Lemoore.

She later married Guy Scott. They were married until his death in 2009.

Bert was an avid gardener, homemaker, and was well known for doing crafts. Christmas was her favorite time to display her decorating talents. When her daughters were young Bert was active in P.T.A., 4H, Brownies, and Girl Scouts. Her favorite leisure times were spent camping with her family and friends in the mountains or at the coast.

Bert was a faithful and long time member of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Armona.

Bert is survived by Virginia Sue Jacobs of Visalia, Wanda Avila (Tony) of Lemoore, and Mary Estes (John) of Lemoore, She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Michele Mendes (Ed) of Lemoore, Sheri Yeargin (Josh) of Manhattan Beach, Roger Estes (Liz) of Lemoore, and Charlene Cano (Eddie) of Lemoore, as well as ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Elbert Donham, Jr. She is also survived by a sister, Janie Wiggins of Laton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grangeville Cemetery followed by a reception at the First Missionary Baptist Church on Railroad Ave. in Armona.
