Arnold Joseph Netto passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 10, 2017 at the age of 85.

Arnold was born in Hanford, California, to Frank and Mary Netto on March 4, 1932. He served his country honorably in the Korean War as a Corporal with the United States Army from 1952-1954, earning the Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal with two bronze service stars, the Good Conduct Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

Following his service in the Korean War, Arnold returned to Hanford, where he married his wife, Elsie Marie Oliveira, on September 29, 1956, and successfully continued the family farming business for over 40 years. They shared 56 years of marriage and raised five children.

A devout Catholic, Arnold was a proud member of numerous church organizations, including the Hanford Celebration Committee, the Our Lady of Fatima Committee, and the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elsie Netto, his parents Frank and Mary Netto, his infant sister Sarina Netto, and grandson Tyler Freitas.

Arnold is survived by his children Arnold Netto Jr. and his wife Allison of Laton; James Netto and his wife Delia of Hanford; Monica Grilione and her husband Craig of Hanford; Frank Netto and his wife Cindy of Hanford; and Sarina Netto of Hanford. He was also the proud grandfather, “Avô,” of Mallory Cruz and her husband Kenneth; Sara Casterman and her husband Mack; Alyssa and Aaron Netto; Danae Koprivetz and her husband Jeff; Diandra Vantrease and her husband Troy; Jordan Grilione and his wife Leah; Blake Grilione and his fiancée Tiffany; Justin Grilione; Breann Dias and her husband Austin; Garrett and Derrick Netto; and Jacob and Dylan Freitas. He was also the great-grandfather of Kyle Cruz and James Vantrease.

The family extends their sincerest gratitude for the excellent care provided to Arnold by Rosie, Kristine, Sylvia, Twila, Natalie, Andrie, and Optimal Hospice over the past few months.

Arnold will be remembered as a Loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather.

Visitation will be held at the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Laton on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 4:30pm to 6:00 p.m., followed by a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Laton on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Hanford.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Arnold's name may be made to St. Rose McCarthy Catholic School 1000 Harris St. Hanford, CA 93230.
