Andrew Richards Berrett

August 25, 1972 - December 9, 2017

Andrew Richards Berrett, beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep from a Pulmonary Embolism on December 9, 2017.

He was born to LeRoy Kimball Berrett and Mary Richards Berrett on August 25, 1972 in Salt Lake City, Utah. When he was 7 years old, his family moved to Hanford, California, where he has lived until his death. Andrew, also known as 'Andy' and 'Drew B', attended Kit Carson Elementary School until he completed 8th grade and he obtained his GED from Hanford Adult School in 1990. Many that knew him would describe him as shy and quiet, but he did have a fun, silly side to him and loved to laugh.

Andy met Emily Skrinde when they were children and as they got older they fell in love. They were married on March 25, 1994, in the Oakland, LDS Temple. They have lived, loved, worked, and raised their 4 children in Hanford for the past 23 years. During this time, he ran his own janitorial business and worked as an Insurance Inspector for Bacome Insurance. He was also a Facilitator for the 12-step program for the LDS Church for 8 years. Andy worked 2 jobs while he attended school and graduated from Brandman University with a Bachelors degree in Political Science. He was working toward finishing his Master's Degree in counseling through Fresno Pacific University. He hoped to help and counsel those who were struggling with mental health and drug addiction.

Anyone that knew Andrew knew of his love for sports, especially the Los Angeles Dodgers, Pittsburg Steelers, BYU, and any form of basketball. He always looked forward to watching 'March Madness' each year with his family and friends. He also loved golf and started playing from a very young age. He enjoyed the time on the golf course with his dad, brothers, and friends. He had a passion for music and was a self-proclaimed 'music snob.' He was always into the newest and best technology and helped anyone else figure it out too. He loved to debate hot topics and had a brilliant mind. Andrew loved nothing more than being a devoted father and loved his 4 children and their unique personalities more than anything. He had unconditional love for all his family and his friends. He also had a very deep, personal relationship with his Savior, Jesus Christ. He believed in being compassionate and forgiving others, and always seeing the good in people. He believed that we should never 'write anyone off', and that everyone deserved a second chance. He reached out to and helped many people in his community.

Andrew is survived by his parents, LeRoy and Mary Berrett of Hanford; his siblings, Bryan Berrett, Amy Leslie (Brandon), and Riley Berrett (Joanna) all from Hanford, his wife Emily Berrett, and his four beautiful children, Jennifer Lexine, Roma Kathleen, Allisa Caroline, and Zachary Andrew. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, nieces and nephews and his 'brothers from other mothers' including Jason Berrett, Rico Sims, David Colclough, Chuck Robison, Lawrence McCune, George Austin and Jake Estes.

Funeral services for Andy will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 2400 North 11th Avenue, Hanford, California, 93230, at 11:00 am. A visitation with the family will be at 10:00 am at the church prior to the services.

Family and Friends are invited to view Andrew's legacy at and write condolences.
