LEMOORE — The Lemoore City Council will meet Tuesday to discuss only one item of new business.
Besides items on the consent calendar, Council will talk about a contract with Vanir Construction Management, Inc. to assist the city in construction phase management services for total trihalomethane (TTHM) compliance.
Lemoore’s water has not been in compliance with the state's drinking water by-products, specifically TTHM, standards for many years and the city is trying to build new treatment plants.
The staff report said due to the time limits, size and nature of this project, city staff does not have the depth and time to devote to the project — especially with other projects going on and the day-to-day operation of the city.
Staff is asking council to let Vanir act on the city’s behalf through the plan development and construction of the proposed treatment plants and assist the city in making recommendations to council.
Council will decide whether or not to award this contract to Vanir for around $136,000.
In a study session before the regular meeting, Council will also receive an update on the South Fork Kings Groundwater Sustainable Act.
