LEMOORE — The Lemoore City Council met briefly on Tuesday to discuss just a few items of business.
After public comment and the approval of the consent calendar, Council received a presentation update from a representative of QK Inc. about progress of the city’s water, wastewater and storm drain master plans.
Next, Council discussed a contract award and budget amendment for engineering services associated with city improvements.
The city improvements are located near the northeast corner of state Route 41 and Idaho Avenue and include improvements to the street, wet utilities, irrigation canal and ponding basin relocation.

In a 4-1 vote, with Councilmember Holly Blair as the only “no” vote, Council approved the $148,000 contract for the city improvements to A&M Engineering.

- City Manager Nathan Olson said the city is still in the process of repairing Well No. 10, which is scheduled to go on-line later this month.
- There was a general consensus from Council to allow city staff to research and bring back information about possibly changing city ordinances to allow for the commercial cultivation of cannabis.
