HANFORD — Kings Community Action Organization (KCAO) will be hosting a food drive this Saturday.
KCAO invites the community to come out and support the effort in helping feed needy families in Kings County. This will be the sixth year that this food drive has taken place and each year has received generous support from the community in the form of donated food items and cash donations.
The food drive will take place from 9–11 a.m. in front of the Hanford Cost Less Foods, located at 102 S. 11th Ave.
This year, KCAO is requesting donated food items from the community, which will be used to augment its food assistance programs. The organization’s goal is to reduce hunger in Kings County by providing those in need with healthy and nutritious foods.
In 2016, KCAO provided 1.7 million pounds of food to residents of Kings County and has also helped to feed local children as part of the Summer Food Program.
