HANFORD - Two men are in custody in connection to the murder of 34-year-old Salvador Valdavinos, according to Hanford Police.
Investigators believe 41-year-old John Reyna shot and killed Valdavinos when an argument erupted at a party on Dec. 31. Police say 36-year-old Joe Trejo, the host of the party, assisted Reyna in removing and burying Valdavino's body in a 4-foot grave on the corner of 9th Avenue and Hanford Armona Road.
Valdavinos was reported missing by his family on Jan. 1, and investigators recovered his body on Jan. 5.
Family of Valdavinos reported that he had not returned home following a party on E 3rd Street in Hanford on on Dec. 31. During the missing person investigation, investigators developed information that indicated Valdavinos had been shot several times at the party.
Search warrants were served at a house on E 3rd Street in Hanford, Bainum Ave in Corcoran and E Hanford Armona Road in Lemoore.
Trejo was detained during a traffic stop and subsequently arrested on Jan. 4. Valdavinos attended the party at Trejo's home. Trejo assisted Reyna with the removal of the body from the crime scene to the burial location. Trejo was arrested in Lemoore during the search warrant on E Hanford Armona Road.
Both suspects are being held without bail in the Kings County Jail.
