The Kings County Emergency Services Director has proclaimed a state of local emergency due to the extremely high flows of flood waters in the Kings River. The current high outflows from Pine Flat Dam and significant remaining snow pack above the dam create a dangerous situation for recreational activities along the river. In order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the community during this time, the river and any parks that abut the river are closed to recreational uses.

As a result of the proclamation of local emergency, the Kings River and all parks that abut the river are now closed to all persons in Kings County.
