CORCORAN — A Corcoran woman was arrested Monday for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in the chest during an incident in August, police officials said.

Just before 4 a.m. on Aug. 6, Corcoran officers said they were dispatched to the 1700 block of Dairy Avenue for a subject who was stabbed. The male victim was then flown to Kaweah Delta Hospital for a stab wound to his chest, which police said had pierced his lung.

Corcoran Police investigators searched the victim’s residence and among the items seized were kitchen knives and clothing, they said.

Through investigation, officials said it was determined the victim’s girlfriend, 29-year-old Drew Thomas of Corcoran, was responsible for the stabbing.

Investigators said they obtained an arrest warrant for Thomas and she was taken into custody on Oct. 15 in the 1700 block of Dairy Avenue.

Authorities said Thomas was booked into the Corcoran City Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. She was later transported to the Kings County Jail where police said she is being held on a $525,000 arrest warrant.
