LEMOORE — Lemoore Police have arrested a man for allegedly firing a gun at a park, but are still looking for witnesses to the incident, department officials said.
Around 5:50 p.m. on July 7, Lemoore officers said they were dispatched to Fountain Plaza Park, 328 W. D St., for a report of a physical disturbance between several people and the firing of a gun.
Upon arrival, police said none of the involved parties were located, however, officers found discarded clothing and evidence that a gun had been fired.
The case was assigned to the detective division for follow-up investigation, during which several subjects were identified through the use of video surveillance on several local businesses, officials said.
Police said the suspect who discharged the firearm was identified as 22-year-old Cyriss Clayton of Lemoore.
Officers said Clayton was taken into custody on Thursday just before 7:30 a.m. and a search warrant was served at his residence.
Officials said Clayton was booked into the Kings County Jail on suspicion of illegally discharging a firearm with negligence and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
A probation hold was also placed in addition to the charges and authorities said Clayton’s bail was set at $45,000.
