ARMONA — The Kings County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Wednesday for allegedly sexually abusing a child during a six-year period.
The sheriff’s office said the victim reported on Feb. 6 that David Owens, 46, had sexually assaulted her from the time she was 9 years old until she was 15. Authorities said the victim described the abuse in detail to an investigative team. Most of the events reportedly occurred in Armona.
Based on the interviews, investigators determined there was probable cause to arrest Owens. A patrol deputy found Owens on Wednesday during a vehicle check in the 800 block of East Lacey Boulevard.
Owens was booked into the Kings County Jail on suspicion of continuous sexual abuse of a child, lewd or lascivious acts with a child, raping a victim incapable of consent, raping a minor and sodomy with a minor. His bail was set at $1.35 million.
