LEMOORE — A teenager was arrested Monday for his involvement in the stabbing of a 14-year-old boy, Lemoore Police Department officials said.

Around 1:30 a.m., Lemoore Police officers said they were dispatched to the 600 block of Cabrillo Street regarding a suspect who had been stabbed.

When officers arrived, they said they found a 14-year-old with a stab wound to his abdomen and two other people who had been physically assaulted. Officers rendered aid until emergency medical services arrived on scene.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital for treatment and police said he is expected to survive.

An investigation began and officials said a teenage male with gang affiliation was ultimately identified as a suspect. Patrol officers went to the residence of the suspect and saw a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle described earlier pulling into a residence in the 600 block of Hill Street, they said.

Officers attempted to contact all the occupants of the vehicle, but said two people fled the vehicle prior to contact.

Authorities said the two subjects who remained with the vehicle, a 15-year-old male and 18-year-old male, were detained and eventually transported to the Lemoore Police Department.

Police said the 18-year-old, identified as Juan Alvarado Jr. from Orange Cove, was interviewed and admitted to his involvement in the stabbing.

The juvenile was released pending further investigation, officials said.

Authorities said Alvarado was booked into the Kings County Jail on suspicion of conspiracy to commit crimes, attempted homicide and gang enhancement. His bail was set at $605,000.

This case is still actively being investigated by the Lemoore Police Department and anyone with information is encouraged to contact investigators Kevin Kurtz or Mark Pescatore at 924-9574.
