Corcoran suspicious object

The Tulare County Bomb Squad was called out to Corcoran on Monday morning after a suspicious object was found on a sidewalk at Claire and Bell avenues. Police said the object was determined not to be dangerous.

CORCORAN — A bomb squad was called out to Corcoran Monday morning after a suspicious object was found on a sidewalk, Corcoran Police Department officials said.

Around 7:25 a.m., officers said an object with suspicious writing was located on the sidewalk in the area of Claire and Bell avenues.

Corcoran Police said they asked for assistance from the Tulare County Bomb Squad, who responded to investigate the object.

After taking an X-ray of the object, officials said it was determined to be inert and contained no dangerous components.

The police department is now investigating how this object came to be placed on the sidewalk.
