The Anonymous movement will be coming to Hanford on Nov. 5 for the Million Mask March.
Participants will meet at 9 a.m. in Hanford Civic Park. Organizers told The Sentinel the event will primarily focus on protesting government.
The group has tentatively planned to march from the park to the new Kings County Courthouse on 12th Avenue at noon to protest the disparity between funding for criminal justice compared with funding local libraries and education.
The Anonymous movement is an international network of activists and computer hackers distinguished by its members’ use of Guy Fawkes masks to protect their identities. Fawkes was involved in the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 which was a failed attempt on England's Parliament.
Participants are not required to be Anonymous or wear a mask at the Hanford event but are asked to remain nonviolent, respectful and not use any drugs or alcohol.
