LEMOORE – More than 100 seniors attended the Lemoore Recreation Department’s celebration of National Senior Health and Fitness Day Wednesday at the Lemoore Recreation center.
The event included a free breakfast provided by American Legion Post No. 100 in Lemoore as well as exercise demonstrations and vendors. Some of the exercises demonstrated included muscle-toning, strength building and stretching.
One of the event’s goals was to get more people to join the Witness for Fitness club, which meets every Tuesday and Thursday. The club aims at keeping senior citizens in the best physical shape possible and currently has about 70 members.
Wednesday marked the 24th annual National Senior Health and Fitness Day, which is on the last Wednesday of May.
