Dorothy Quam of North Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on August 8, 2014 at the age of 80.
Dorothy was born January 18, 1934 in Kennett, Missouri to John “Ott” and Alice Willard. Her family moved to the communities of Armona/Hanford in 1938. Dorothy attended local schools and graduated from Hanford High School in 1952. Dorothy worked for Pacific Bell in California for over 20 years before she moved to Las Vegas where she began a second career with the local phone company Centel. Dorothy retired from Centel in 1997 after 26 ½ years. Dorothy enjoyed traveling and was able to visit many States in the U.S, and also many foreign countries. Dorothy also enjoyed a “bit” of gambling and she was known in the family for having good luck at winning.
Dorothy is survived by her Daughter and Son-in-law Linda and Greg Henry of Hanford, CA, Son and Daughter- in-law Dan and Nancy Quam of Monroe, WA.
Grandchildren Nikki and husband Jeff Hollenbeck of North Las Vegas, NV. Connor Henry and fiancé Brandy Ponce De Leon, and Lauren Henry of Hanford, CA. Colton and Hunter Quam of Monroe, WA. Great grandchildren Rory and Brooklyn of Hanford, CA. Dorothy also leaves behind her Sister and Husband, Barbara and Sherman Bohard of Madera, CA. and Brothers Jerry Willard of Porterville, CA. Don and wife Marylou Willard of Albuquerque N.M, Bill and wife Peggy Willard and Thelbert and wife Gail Willard of Hanford. Dorothy also leaves behind her various cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was predeceased in death by her parents, Ott and Alice Willard, brothers, Cleatus, Cleo and J.O. Leo Willard.
Graveside services will be held at the Grangeville Cemetery on October 3, 2014 at 11 a.m., there will be a reception following at Armona Methodist Church on 14th Ave. Armona, CA.
