The Central Sequoia League announced its all-league volleyball award winners for this season with names from Kingsburg and Selma high schools on that list.
Karen Rodriguez of Kingsburg was named first-team all-league. Her teammate Jennah Torres made it to the second team.
Rodriguez, a senior, led the Vikings in kills (236) and was second in the CSL in hitting percentage (.269) and kills per set (3.3).
Torres, a sophomore, was second on the team with 187 kills and 2.5 kills per set, which was good for fifth in the league.
Rodriguez and Torres were part of a Kingsburg squad that went to the playoffs before losing 3-1 to Immanuel in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Central Section Div. IV semifinals on Nov. 9.
As for Selma, Caitlyn Hansen was named to the second team leading the Bears with kills (315), kills per set (3.4), kill percentage (35.9) and hitting percentage (.188).
Hansen’s 315 kills were good for second in the league behind CSL most valuable player Corinne Acosta of Exeter (343 kills). Hansen's 3.4 kills per set also led the CSL.
The senior played a part in the Bears run for a CIF Central Section Div. V title in the playoffs before they fell short to California City in a 3-0 sweep in the semifinals on Nov. 9.
