The Hanford West Huskies softball team finished 2-2 at the Buchanan Preseason Tournament held March 4 and March 9 at Buchanan High School.

The Huskies earned two wins on March 9, defeating Central High School 12-0. They then beat Redwood High 17-11.

Hanford West opened the tournament on March 4 with a 11-1 loss to Clovis North High, before falling to Bullard High 5-2.

The Huskies, who are 8-4 overall, play at Dinuba High School on Tuesday to open Central Sequoia League play. They then will host Kingsburg High School on Friday. 

Hanford High Softball

Hanford High School Bullpups softball moved to 9-3 on the season after splitting two games against Paso Robles High School on March 9.

Paso Robles won the first game 2-1, before the Bullpups rebounded with a 5-4 victory.

In the first game, Ashlyn Vidana had one RBI for Hanford.

In the second game, Hanford High fell behind 4-1, before scoring the final four runs of the game to defeated Pas Robles.

Hannah Costa, Marissa Cruz, Vidana and Mia Hernandez each had one RBI. Aryssa Danell earned the win on the mound throwing a complete game and striking out three batters.

The Bullpups will play Tulare Union on March 19 in Tulare.
