Members of Glad Tidings Church have spent this year celebrating the 90 year history of our church here in Hanford. We are very proud of the history of the people who helped get this church started back in 1923. We are also very proud of the pastors and their families who brought the message of Jesus to us during the times they were here as God’s servants. The church was started by a small group of people who attended a Pentecostal revival meeting at the old Armory Building, located on 8th Street, here in Hanford. Over the past 90 years the church has had 26 pastors.
Pastor Rick McCullough is our current pastor. He first came to Glad Tidings as a youth pastor in 1989. He served in that position for six years. He left Hanford in 1995 and went to San Diego 1st Assembly of God as their youth pastor. In 2001, Glad Tidings Church was looking for a new Lead Pastor. Rick McCullough was asked to submit his name and was elected as the new Lead Pastor. The McCullough family has served Glad Tidings for over 20 years combined as youth pastor and lead pastor.
This Sunday, our church will celebrate in a slightly different way. There will be one celebration service a 10 a.m. in the sanctuary at Glad Tidings Church on the corner of 10th Avenue and Grangeville Blvd. The Superintendent of the Southern California Network of the Assemblies of God. Rev. Rich Guerra (former pastor of Visalia First Assembly) will be speaking on what and how Glad Tidings Church should and will face in the future.

At 1 p.m. we will meet again at the Civic Auditorium for a nice sit-down dinner with 400 people of our congregation. Pastor Rick will share the vision God has given us for our future. There will also be an enjoyable program presented by some of the very talented members of our church and a celebration of the recent retirement of our mortgage.
A major theme of Glad Tidings Church for now and in the future is “Loving God and Loving People.” We are very proud of this church theme. We must never forget a wonderful past, however, Pastor Rick has now introduced a new theme that we at Glad Tidings Church completely support. It is “Our Vision is Bigger than Our Memories.”
Glad Tidings Church has a very active youth group, serving God under the leadership of Youth Pastors James and Marissa Force. In fact, all of the congregation from the nursery to the 50 Plus group under the leadership of the entire pastoral staff, Pastors Rick and Kim McCullough, Pastors James and Marissa Force, Pastors John and Angie Stafford and Pastors Charles and Katheryn Harlin are dedicated to this vision for the future. We all need to make sure that we are doing the things God wants us to do. Jesus should be the number one focus in our future.
