Three: Raisin Royalty candidates

SELMA – The Selma Chamber of Commerce announces that plans are underway for the 40th Annual Selma Raisin Festival which is May 1-5. Three locals have been named as the Raisin Royalty candidates and pre-sale tickets are going on now.

The Raisin Queen candidates are Gregoria Avilla, who is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Selma; Alyssa Regalado, who is sponsored by the Central Valley Lioness Lions Club; and Simran Sihota, who is sponsored by the Selma Rotary Club. The coronation ceremony will be May 3 at the Selma Art Center.

Carnival ride tickets are being sold in advance at a discounted price until the day of the Festival, May 1. Vouchers worth 32 tickets are $20. This may be traded for a wristband at the carnival. Tickets are available at the Chamber office at 1821 Tucker St. They are closed April 18, 19 and 22 during spring break. Pre-sale carnival tickets are also available at Nelson Hardware and Fox Drugs in Downtown Selma.
