SELMA – Reedley’s Daniel Hernandez, 47, has been identified as the man found shot and killed in an orchard near Parlier on April 10, according to a Fresno County Sheriff’s press release. An autopsy had been performed and the results of his death are pending further investigation, the Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit reports.

The man and woman who had been shot were involved in a disturbance which lead to a shooting, Deputies reported. While officers administered first aid until medics arrived, other deputies drove in the direction in which Hernandez was seen heading off Huntsman Avenue. He was found in an orchard outside Parlier between Newmark and Zediker avenues.

Deputies found a vehicle matching Hernandez’ and as they approached, they saw Hernandez injured on the ground. There was no one else inside the vehicle and upon closer inspection they determined Hernandez was deceased.

Homicide detectives and the Crime Scene Unit responded to examine evidence at both intersections.

The woman who had been shot remains hospitalized and in critical condition. She’s in her mid-20s. The man who had been shot has been treated and released from the hospital. He’s also in his mid-20s.
