Selma had multiple representatives on the 2018-19 All-Central Sequoia League honors list for boys and girls soccer.

On the girls list, the most notable name from the Bears was Mya Rosas, who earned the CSL co-underclassman of the year. Rosas shared the award with Dinuba’s Natalie Duran.

The award is a new honor that was added to the league this year and it recognizes the top freshman of the season.

This year, Rosas was one of two freshmen on the Selma girls team. With the honor, Rosas earned a first team selection as well. She was one of four Lady Bears that earn All-CSL honors.

Other representatives from Selma that earned All-League recognition were Irene Zamora (first team), Julie Aceves (second team), and Leslie Sosa (second team).

In the 2018-19 campaign, the Bears went 10-8-2 overall and 5-6-1 in CSL play. Selma’s season ended with a 4-1 loss to Golden West in the first round of the Central Section Division III playoffs. The Bears were the No. 14 seed while the Trailblazers were ranked No. 3.

As for the boys, Selma had four players to earn All-League honors. Carlos Figueroa and Biviano Prieto were selected to the first team while Pedro Rangel and Manraj Bassi earned second team honors.

In 2018-19, the boys went 12-8-3 overall and 6-3-1 in CSL play. Like the girls, the boys’ season ended with a first round playoff loss. As the No. 7 seed, Selma fell 3-0 to No. 10 Edison in the Division II playoffs.
