I was at Selma Health Care District Board meeting. It was my first time attending. I was shocked and a little confused with the handling of the entire evening.

It has been my experience that when a public vote is NOT required then any nominating, conflict, board changes and or items of serious/sensitive topic should be handled behind closed doors. Simply out of respect and as a professional courtesy.

In addition, I don't recall Yvette Montijo introducing herself or being introduced as representing the city council. She was not out of line. In light of the comments made from the board she responded fairly and appropriately.

I was disappointed with the entire meeting and how it was led the animosity was palpable.
