FRESNO – The Big Fresno Fair officials are looking to fill nearly 500 positions to run this year’s fair which runs Oct. 3-14.
“We are looking for hardworking candidates with excellent customer service skills who will help fairgoers feel like they’re right at home,” Big Fresno Fair CEO John C. Alkire said.
Their eighth annual job fair is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Commerce Building at the Fresno Fairgrounds, 1121 S. Chance Ave.
Available positions include, but are not limited to, parking and admission ticket sellers, ticket takers, parking attendants, customer service representatives, janitorial staff, maintenance staff, horse-racing staff, security guards, concessions and museum docents. New this year will be a volunteer booth for those who would like to volunteer during the fair.
Supervisors are looking for people with a strong work ethic and a high level of customer service who want to be part of the Central Valley’s largest annual event. Applications will be available to fill out on-site, but serious candidates should download one ahead of time at http://www.fresnofair.com/fairgrounds-employment. Fill out the application and bring copies to the job fair. Copy machines will also be available. Interested applicants must also bring their photo identification. Business professional attire strongly encouraged.
Founded in 1884, The Big Fresno Fair is the fifth largest fair in California drawing more than 600,000 people each year and is an integral part of the community through a 135-year long history of tradition and substantial economic impact.
