KINGSBURG – A Kingsburg man has been arrested after Monterey Police found that he’d contacted a minor girl via social media apps and later committed sexual acts with the 12-year-old.

Robert Gomez, 26, was arrested Nov. 1 and booked into the Fresno County Jail on $600,000 bail. He was later transferred to the Monterey County Jail in Salinas.

Kingsburg Police are collecting and securing evidence in regards to the investigation.

Gomez targeted girls between the ages of 12 through 16 via Snapchat and other social media platforms and detectives report he’s had social media contact with girls from Tulare County to Sacramento County.

Any potential victims are urged to contact Kingsburg Police Department’s Detective Lee Forlines at 897-4418.

The KPD also urge parents to monitor their children’s social media activity and report any suspicious activity.
