The MyNavy Career Development Symposium (CDS), hosted by Navy Personnel Command, will be visiting Naval Air Station Lemoore Nov. 1 to inform the fleet of new Navy career and personnel initiatives for Sailors.
There will be two sessions at NAS Lemoore – the first session in Main Side Theater starts at 7:30 a.m. and a night-check only session will be conducted at VFA-122 Eagles’ Nest at 4 p.m.
MyNavy CDS showcases the Navy’s latest career information, directly from the experts and senior Navy leadership to the Fleet.
“Every day we are making improvements to the way we do business in the Navy's personnel system, bringing customer service to the forefront of everything we do,” said Chief of Naval Personnel (CNP) Vice Adm. Robert Burke. "The positive feedback we have received at past CDS events brought home to us how important this event is to the Navy, our Sailors and their families, and frankly, there is no substitute for the personal contact that events like the CDS enables.”
Key topics include the Sailor 2025 program, the new Performance Evaluation Transformation, the MyNavy Career Center, updating the CMS-ID detailing system to the new Detailing Marketplace, and Voluntary Education (VOLED).
CNP will host a senior leadership panel Q&A session, giving Sailors a unique opportunity to ask questions directly to senior leadership and voice their input on the changes.
“This event is a must for every Sailor at NAS Lemoore to find out what we are changing. It's important that Sailors know how and why we are making these changes, and to also give us feedback on what else we can do to make Navy the employer and career opportunity of choice," said Burke.
Sailors will also be able to meet with detailers and community managers to discuss orders, career paths, or just learn about the options they have to manage their career. Also, PACT (Professional Apprenticeship Career Tracks) Sailors are especially encouraged attend and may potentially be able to get a rate.
“We want to give Sailors the tools and access to leadership that will help them manage their career,” said Cmdr. Gabe Gammache, CDS event coordinator at Navy Personnel Command. “CDS is a unique opportunity for Sailors to interact with Navy leadership in regards to personnel policies and to get their questions answered.”
This event is an opportunity to hear directly from top Navy leadership, including Chief of Naval Personnel, enlisted community managers and detailers.
