Universities: Graduates and Dean's Lists

Twelve local students graduated from Fresno Pacific University at the Dec. 15 ceremony and two more local students have made the Dean’s Lists at their respective schools.

Twelve Kingsburg and Selma residents were among those who graduated from Fresno Pacific University during their Dec. 15 ceremony that took place at the Selland Arena in Fresno.

Meanwhile, additional Selma and Kingsburg residents have been named to their respective university’s Dean’s Lists.

Fresno Pacific University

The Kingsburg FPU graduates are Bre Danielle Abell who earned a B.A. in Kinesiology-Exercise Science; Brennan Gilmore who earned a B.A. in Business Management; Melissa Anne Lackey who earned an M.S. in Nursing; Hannah Leanne Lehrman who graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned a B.A. in Liberal Studies-Ministry; Suzanne Renee Rogers who earned an M.S. in Nursing; and Laura Marie Vallenari who earned an M.A. in School Library and Information Technology.

The Selma FPU graduates included Gabriel Anthony Castillo Jr. who earned a B.A. in Business Administration; Gustavo Javier Cázares who earned a B.S. in Computer Information Systems; Jenifer D. Johnson who graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned a B.A. in Business Management; Maari Elizabeth Nesper who earned a M.A. in Reading and Language Arts; Veronica Serna who earned a M.A. in Reading and Language Arts; and Tannisse Nichole Tuttrup who graduated Magna Cum Laude earning a B.A. in Liberal Studies-Biblical Studies.

They were among 439 graduates at the university’s spring commencement. The ceremony took place at the Selland Arena at the Fresno Convention and Entertainment Center.

The ceremony honored 327 graduates from the bachelor’s degree completion program, 58 from the traditional bachelor’s degree program and 54 master’s candidates (including three from Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary).

Fairfield University

Selma’s Alisha Marshall has been named to Dean's List at Fairfield University in Connecticut for the Fall 2018 semester. In order to be placed on the Dean’s List, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours in a semester, have no outstanding or incomplete grades for that semester, and have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better.

George Fox University

Kingsburg’s Jade Contreras was named to the Dean’s List at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon, for the fall 2018 semester. Traditional undergraduate students must earn a 3.50 grade point average or above on 12 or more hours of graded work to earn a spot on the list.
