Kingsburg’s Maddy Reed will showcase her talent in the Bay Area this weekend.
On Sunday, the Vikings forward will participate in the 2019 All NorCal Games at Las Positas College in Livermore. Reed will team up with her peers throughout the Valley in the girls Stanislaus-Joaquin versus Central Section matchup. The Stanislaus-Joaquin team will feature talent from the Turlock through Stockton area.
The game is one of six all-star contests throughout the event. Other games throughout the event will include all-star games featuring high school talent from Sacramento and the Bay Area competing against each other. There will also be a boys high school game between talent from the Valley and Stanislaus-Joaquin areas.
The girls Stanislaus-Joaquin/Central Section matchup is the first game of the day to showcase high school talent.
Reed is coming off a season where she led Kingsburg in scoring at 19.1 points per game. Against Central Sequoia League opponents, Reed averaged 20.7 points per game.
Her scoring output against CSL competition helped the future UC Merced Bobcat earn the league’s player of the year award for the 2018-19 season.
The All NorCal Games features talent from middle school, high school, and junior college from Bakersfield through the Bay Area. The event will also feature both a three-point and dunk contest.
NorCal Sports TV - a digital platform that showcases high school basketball - is the host of the event. According to the platform’s website, the NorCal games is the West Coast’s largest all-star event and it will feature over 150 participants throughout the one day showcase.
Reed and the Central Section team will tip-off against the Stanislaus-Joaquin squad at 12 p.m.
