No trick: Dentists give free toothbrushes

Dentists Behzad Fareid, at right, and Neikka Fareid are offering free toothbrushes and office tours on Halloween. Their office, Kingsburg Smile Center, will also accept uneaten candy until Nov. 7 and will ship the donated sweets to troops serving overseas.

KINGSBURG – With all the candy being consumed during the Halloween season, a local father and daughter duo of dentists are offering free toothbrushes to help prevent tooth decay.

Kingsburg Smile Center’s dentists Behzad Fareid and Neikka Fareid are inviting children of all ages to visit their office between 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 31 at 1591 Earl St. for free toothbrushes and a tour of the office.

“Hopefully kids will get a chance to see that dentists aren’t as spooky as some people think, and I’m sure having a toothbrush will help with all the candy they will be getting while trick or treating,” Neikka Fareid said.

Visitors are encouraged to wear costumes and see their own staff that will be dressed as tooth fairies.

Various school groups will also be taking the tour that day and parents may bring their children after school as well.

“Our office will also be collecting any uneaten Halloween candy through Nov. 7. We will be shipping all donated candy to our troops that are currently serving overseas so they can enjoy a little taste of home. We would be more than happy to provide anyone donating their candy, adults or children, a complementary toothbrush as well,” she said.
