KINGSBURG – A Kingsburg man is under arrest after an employee of a convenience store he robbed recognized him after he returned to the scene days later.

According to a Kingsburg Police Department report, Tyler Joseph Wood, 26, wore a mask and used a gun to rob the Arco Am Pm, 400 Sierra St., in the early morning hours of Nov. 25. He wasn’t recognized immediately but fled with a small amount of cash and other items.

Kingsburg Police received a Crime Stoppers tip identifying the suspect and narrowed their focus to find him.

When Wood returned to the store in the early evening of Dec. 2, a store clerk recognized him from the earlier robbery. Patrons in the store at the time recalled he was in the store just prior to the robbery as well. The employee and patrons surrounded Wood, locked the store door and called the police.

Kingsburg Police arrived thereafter and arrested Wood who confessed to the crimes. He’s been booked into the Fresno County Jail under investigation of armed robbery and other felony charges.
