Dove hunting season has begun in Fresno County and continues until Sept. 15. The season will resume again from Nov. 10 through Dec. 24.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has issued the following safety measures for residents and hunters:
- Hunters must make sure they have written permission from property owners to be on their land.
- Be aware of your surroundings as there may be other hunters walking the property. Know your shooting backdrop.
- If you are hunting and are contacted by law enforcement, put the safety on your rifle, set it down and cooperate with the officer.
- Hunters must be familiar with the county’s no-shoot zones, which can be viewed at the FCSO website at https://bit.ly/2MhJR55
The daily bag limit for mourning doves and white-winged doves is 15, up to 10 of which may be white-winged doves. There is no limit on spotted doves and ringed turtle doves.
