Flooring company: Kimbley's

Kimbley's is celebrating their 50th anniversary and just moved to a new location in Downtown Kingsburg.

KINGSBURG – After first functioning out the owner’s garage in Selma, Kimbley’s is still thriving 50 years later. At first they were a flooring shop owned by Carl and Ramona Kimbley.

Carl Kimbley started off as an apprentice and in starting his own business, would bring samples to his customers’ homes. A year later, a storefront in Kingsburg came available in 1968. With Ramona Kimbley taking care of the secretarial end of the business, they worked side by side until their retirement in 2013.

The shop has evolved to offer window treatments, wallpaper and interior design and current owner Stacey Viramontes says they strive to follow the example set by the shop’s namesakes and recently relocated to a new spot in Downtown Kingsburg. We asked them a few questions for a business Q&A and here are their responses:

Q: When did the business open?

A: We just celebrated our 50th anniversary and the grand opening of our new storefront in Downtown Kingsburg at 1448 Draper St.

Q: What do you specialize in?

A: We specialize in flooring of all sorts, window treatments, wallpaper and have an in-store interior designer as well.

Q: Why did you decide to locate in town?
