Emergency: Adventist remodel done

Adventist Health Selma’s emergency department reopened Dec. 13 after a remodel and is again receiving patients.

SELMA – Adventist Health Selma has opened its expanded emergency department as of Dec. 13 to serve the public after a recent remodel.

The expansion provides a more spacious and comfortable waiting environment for those waiting to be seen by staff at the hospital. The entrance has been relocated and now faces the parking lot to make it easier for patients to find, Communications Manager Melinda Morales said.

“The new waiting room features a quick-look nurse for immediate evaluation, four private registration areas and an electronic tracking board monitor system that helps patients track their progress during their visit while protecting their privacy,” she said.

Adventist Health Selma has recently earned its third consecutive “A” grade for safety from the Leapfrog Group, which monitors and rates safety guidelines in U.S. hospitals.

“More importantly, the Adventist Health Selma ED boasts some of the shortest waiting times in the area, often 30 minutes or less,” Morales said.
