Quarterback Junior Ramirez has made the City/County All-Star football game set for summer 2018, and received a commemorative jersey at Friday night’s game against visiting Reedley.
Ramirez will play for the County team in the annual game.
Last season Ramirez led the Bears to a 13-1 record and league and section championships by throwing for 1,732 yards and 18 touchdowns and running for 730 yards and two scores.
“It’s well deserved,” Selma coach Matt Logue said. “He’s been a great player for us for three years. Last year he could not play in the all-star game (it is for seniors), but he is one of the better players in the Valley. He deserves to play in the game.”
It is also possible one or more Bear players will be added to the County team before the game. Last year Selma and Kingsburg had two players apiece compete in the game.
